Brackish

Definition: Water that is a mixture of saltwater and freshwater. Longtime friend and team rider Marlon Lipke approached us with what he felt was needed in a wave pool board, and with the fact that no one had really designed a board focused solely on wave pool performance. What started as an attempt to design a board specifically for wave pool technology ended up being a success in both fresh and salt water.

The Brackish design features a light concave starting about 6” down from the nose, running continuously deeper and transitioning into a slight double concave around the midpoint of the board. This double concave is deepest between the fins and fades into a slight vee at the end of the tail for release and to enhance tight pivoting during maneuvers.
The rocker line and bottom contour maximize speed and create a super-reactive, fast surfboard. We run a heavy dome deck in this model with a lower rail line, so center thicknesses will be slightly thicker than your normal board.

Fast top-to-bottom transitions, constant speed, and looseness for whatever your mind feels like doing were the guidelines for this model. The wave pool was our target, and we nailed it. What surprised us was the fact that it also turned out to be an amazing ocean board.

The “Brackish” is a one-board cure for both worlds.
